Shopr is a platform for online shoppers to receive live recommendations for their next purchase. Shoppers use video calls, phone calls or messages to connect with experts available on the platform. After a quick chat, experts give a few product recommendations. Shoppers can then buy their favorite product directly. Shopr saves shoppers endless online search by bringing back genuine human interaction in the online shopping process.
What is the cost of the service?

Shopr is 100% free to use for both shoppers and for Experts.
How do I make money as an expert?

Experts might make money if shoppers end up buying one of the recommended products via affiliate links. It has no impact on the product price: it is funded by the brands or ecommerce platform. 
How does Shopr make money?

Shopr is a self funded company and doesn’t generate any revenue. If you like the service, you can donate by sending funds to contact@askshopr.com  
Is Shopr an e-commerce website?

No, Shopr is a communication platform between shoppers and experts. Every purchase happens on shoppers' favorite e-commerce site.
Who are the Experts available on the platform?

Experts are passionate people with expertise and knowledge about a specific category willing to provide guidance to online shoppers. Experts can be professionals or amateurs in the category but they always have a strong passion!
What is your environmental commitment and how do you contribute to reducing climate change?

Do I have to schedule a call with an Expert?

Shopr is a live platform so you don’t need to schedule a call with an expert. Just search for the category and you will see the available Experts to chat with live. Call them by clicking on the button video call, phone call or message on their profile page.
I am using Chrome as a browser and fail to connect with the expert on a video call

You may need to update your Chrome settings to access to video or phone call with an Expert. It's super easy.
#1 Open Chrome on your phone and click on the three dots in the right corner to open the menu
#2 Scroll down and tap on "Settings". Under "Advanced", tap on "Site settings" or "Content settings"
#3 Look for "JavaScript" and toggle it to "On" or "Allowed". This will enables video calls in your browser

My Shopr account

How can I create an account?

Click on the 'Login/Sign-up' button at the top right corner of your screen or click here. You will be prompted to enter your email, a username, and a password. Once you've completed these steps, you're all set and ready to enjoy Shopr.
How can I delete my account?

You can delete your account through your profile. Navigate to your profile page and select 'Edit Profile.' At the bottom of the page, you'll find a button that allows you to delete your account directly. Alternatively, you can also send us an email at support@askshopr.com with the subject 'Account Closure.' Thank you.
How can I reset my password?

Call an Expert

Can I use Shopr on my cell phone or on my laptop? Do I need to download an app?

Shopr offers versatile accessibility, functioning seamlessly on both your smartphone and any computer with an internet connection. No need to download an app; Shopr is readily available through any web browser. However, for enhanced convenience and faster access, we've designed the Shopr mobile application. You can connect directly to the platform by visiting askshopr.com or by downloading the Shopr mobile app here.
How does a call work?

Conduct expert consultations seamlessly on Shopr without the need for third-party software like Zoom or Google Meet. This ensures a smoother experience while safeguarding your privacy, eliminating the necessity to exchange phone numbers or contact information. There's no preparation required for the call – simply reach out to the expert, explain your requirements, and let them guide you to the best product. Engage in a discussion with the expert about their suggestions. Once a product is recommended, it gets added to the chat history along with a link for easy access after the call concludes.

How do I choose the right Expert for me?

Search by product or categories and find the list of available Experts. Browse their profile and check their posts  to learn more about them. When you are ready, just click on video call, phone call or message button.
How can I make sure that my expert is not biased in their suggestions?

When you choose an expert, you gain access to their profile. Legislation mandates that experts declare any financial support or affiliations with brands in the information provided before you connect with them. We recommend visiting the expert's profile before reaching out and contacting multiple experts to gather personalized recommendations, allowing you to make informed decisions. It's important to note that there's no obligation to make a purchase, and the expert is solely present to offer guidance and suggest products in your best interest. Additionally, be aware that sales associates in physical stores are often motivated to promote specific brands or products, a detail not often disclosed to customers.
How can I connect with an Expert?

You can connect by video call, phone call or messages. Simply go to the profile page of the Expert and click on which way you want to reach out to them.
Do I have to schedule a call with an Expert?

Shopr is a live platform so you don’t need to schedule a call with an expert. Just search for the category and you will see the available Experts to chat with live. Call them by clicking on the button video call, phone call or message on their profile page.
Do I have to turn on my camera on a video call?

It's up to you to decide whether or not you want to activate your camera during a video call. Genuine interactions are better with camera on but no pressure if you are still in pj’s!

I am an Expert

How do I qualify to become an Expert on Shopr?

Everyone passionate about a category can be an expert on Shopr. To appear in the search results as an expert, you just need to enter your category expertise in My Profile / Expertise. Don't forget to add products to your catalog to be able to recommend products during a call.
How do I show up first in the shopper product search?
+
Your profile will rank higher in the search results if your profile is completed with details in your bio and if you post regularly on the platform. To optimize your profile ranking, you can also apply to become a certified expert. It is completely free: you just need to send us a few “pieces of evidence” of your expertise such as your LinkedIn profile, proof of employment, diplomas or anything that can help us qualify you as a passionate individual in the field. Verified experts will receive higher ranking in search results. Send us everything at: support@askshopr.com
How can I connect in one to one with my community using Shopr?

It's easy: just share your Shopr page link with your community. Your link is askshopr.com/u/username. You can copy it in My Profile with the button next to the edit button. Users will click on that link and land directly on your page where they can contact you in one click if you have set your status as available.
How can I activate/manage incoming call notifications?

Mobile notifications.
You can receive mobile notifications by using the Shopr mobile application when you are 'Online' and have enabled notifications.

To enable mobile notifications, you can either click 'Allow' when the app prompts you to receive notifications or, alternatively, go to the 'Notifications' settings in the menu (accessible by clicking on your profile picture) and click 'Enable.'

You can stop mobile notifications at any time by changing your status to 'Offline' or unchecking 'Enable' in your notification settings.

Desktop notifications via browser notifications.
To activate desktop notification, you can either allow notifications on the pop-up display to you the 1st time you navigate on askshopr.com OR If you use Google Chrome.
#1 Open chrome browser and go to settings (three dots on the top right end corner of your screen)
#2 Enter 'notifications' in the search bar and click on 'site settings'.
#3 Click on 'notifications' and add 'https://askshopr.com' in the 'Allowed to send notifications' websites.
Do I have to stay online all the time?

No, mobile and desktop notifications will alert you of incoming calls from shoppers directly in your browser on desktop or by push notifications on mobile. You can also simply log in on your Shopr account and let the tab open on your browser in the background (works for mobile and desktop). 
How do I make money using Shopr?

Shopr is free to use: you don't have to pay to be an Expert on Shopr. In fact, we have built the tool so you can generate revenue by recommending the best products that are available within your affiliate programs. The best part is that you are free to use your own product catalog with your own affiliate links. Each time someone purchases a product using your own affiliate links, you'll earn 100% of the commission, Shopr won't take any cut.
How does Shopr creates a new additional stream of revenue to my activity?

Shopr is a new and additional stream of revenue for Experts. It doesn't interfere or compromise others traditional source of revenue of affiliate sales and online Experts. Shopr is a tool designed for one-to-one product recommendation, connect with your community and beyond when you are available, recommend products and convert with your own affiliate links. It will also grow your kpis and overall activity.

Do I have to share my email or phone number with the expert I call?

No, everything happens on the Shopr platform so no one will have access to your personal information.
What if I experience inappropriate behavior while using Shopr? 
+
Security is our number one priority and Shopr has been designed to be a safe space for you to interact. We are actively committed to provide you with the best and safest experience so if you feel or experience inappropriate behavior, discussion, comment, image or videos please report immediately to our team by email support@askshopr.com with the subject 'Report'. Our team will then reach out and take appropriate measures. Any misbehavior will not be tolerated and the account will be immediately suspended.
